The day I ventured with my two buddies Louanne and Anne-Di from Cubao to Bongabong, Mindoro.
Dapat kasama rin ang iba panaming friends but because of financial, personal, and strictness of parents reasons they could not be with us to put into action the plans that they were also there when it was set. Hindi na daw kayo kilala ni ama (Robel) maliban kay Fiel.
Mga 5:30amnag text si louanne ng ‘kitakits nalang sa cubao’ at mga 5:45 am naman si andi kaya ng umalis kami ni mama at papa sa bahay ng 6:10 am ay akala nila nakasakay na sina luan at andi sa bus ng sumapit ang 6:30 call time naming dun. But no, naunahan ko pa pala sila makarating hehehe
Ok fast forward na dahil magiging nobela ito pag sobrang detalyado.
Mga 7 am na ng umalis ung bus. We paid 175 pesos and it took us 4 hours because we reached Batangas pier at around 11 am. At the sight of the blue hue of the sea, our weary selves were energized. Even more so when the salty scent of it greeted us as we stepped out from the bus. We bought tickets to the ferry boat that would be travelling to Calapan pier the soonest and that was the Supercat that was bound to leave at 12 noon. We paid 260 which was already discounted because we used our student privileges (si luan nga registration form ang ginamit at pwede pala un hahaha). We would have rather ridden on a slower boat because luan’s sisters said that fast boats may accidentally harm dolphins but then again we could not make ama wait too long at Calapan pier. We ate lunch at the terminal which we had to pay 10 pesos before we could enter (tsk tsk as if the terminal is air conditioned.. maybe in a few years perhaps?). Oh yeah they have the x-ray thing like those in the airport terminals which was really cool so I guess that’s where our 10 pesos go.
Ama called me on my cell and asked us to buy 4 Angelstar Van tickets when we board the Supercat. We were a bit disappointed when we saw the Supercat because we were expecting to ride on an open air ferry boat so we could take pictures. And even more disappointment came when we learned that our seats were in the middle and not at the sides. Sabi panaman ng mga ate ni luan na sa right side kami pumuwesto kasi sa left ang alon. Ok naman sa Supercat kasi malamig sa loob, may banyo, may flatscreen tv na ang pinalabas nun ay ung movie ni the Rock what’s his name ah yes Dwayne Johnson na football player cya pero biglang dumating ung daughter nya.
Benta si andi biglang nag cr dun sa Men’s XD. The Angelstar tickets going to Bongabong was 150 pesos and apparently luan and andi now have the same taste.. for men that is (they found the guy selling the tickets cute .. blech)
It took us 1 hour to reach Calapan pier and although we were also told by ama to hurry because the vans are easily filled, we still took pictures outside the calapan terminal hehehe. We saw bel near the guardhouse wearing a black (in the scorching heat) shirt and his Hawaiian shorts. He had his sister’s green framed shades which I borrowed and wasn’t really planning on returning because its green but because it was his sister’s whom I will meet 2 hours later..well anyhoo carry on..
Wala palang sense of direction si ama kasi sabi nya tumingin sa kaliwa pero sa kanan pala kami pinapatingin >.
He wasn’t kidding when he said they had many dogs, for there were many dogs (not to mention the puppies in the back). Ama’s mom greeted us cheerfully and asked us to come down to eat after we placed our bags in ama’s room. Tita was what we called her but now it seems that Mama Bel is more appropriate because she really treated (and still does) us like her real children during our 4 days stay. Miss ko na kagad si Mama Bel. After eating we rested a bit at their kubo which was my favorite part of their lot. The palay that was being dried was swept up and stored inside the sacks. Nag posing pa kami ni andi kunwari tumulong hehehe. Si luan naman nagawa ung kanyang challenge na kung mabubuhat ba nya ung sako. And sure enough, she was successful! After that we went to fish in a palaisdaan. But then there weren’t any hooks and fish lines so we just ate and drank buko juice there. Ang galing nga eh kasi hindi naman talaga kasama sa plano ung buko juice pero biglang nagpakuha ng buko at un ang hinanda. Hehe lagging handa daw mga tao dun. Astig! After that we walked to the beach which is like a 5 to 10 minute walking distance from bel’s place. It was getting dark then but nothing can stop these 3 girls from jumping into the sea. Back at the house and after we had showered, the four of us stayed at the kubo. Hot seat demit!
Well it really got me thinking, and a question left me hanging.
The three of us slept at bel’s room which was big enough for the supposed 7 people coming but was left to 3. He slept dowstairs and said his arm sticking out on the cold cement giving him a sore arm the next morning.
I woke up at around 5 am and thought that it was already 7 since daylight was already showing me an ordinary morning in mindoro. Though bel said he would wake us up early because we would be going to the river to swim, he was still the last to wake up. We had breakfast which we ate very fast because the gilingan was already in front of the house. We wanted to see how it worked. Hiniwalay nun ung outer covering nung palay na yellow from the bigas inside and may isa pang natatanggal which is used as pig feed. The terms I could not remember T_T sori ama
We rode going to “labasan” where the friends of Mama Bel lived. We stopped and took pictures at the Hundred year old tree which was actually a hundred and ten years old says ama. And then when we got to the “labasan”, ayan na nagsimula na ang pangaasar. Ewan ko ba kung anong pumasok sa ulo ni ama at kung bakit ako pa ang napiling tuksuhin dun sa anak ng friends ng mama nya. Nandun din naman sina andi at luan ah! Bakit porket ako ang pinaka maliit ay ako nalang lagi?!? Buong araw un, at hindi lang si bel ang nangaasar, pati si mama bel at si miko. Actually parang lahat sila! T_T
Sa Catmon river kami pumunta na malapit dun sa labasan. Hay napakaraming mga nangyari dun kabilang na ang pag number 1ng ilang beses saamin at ang pag number 2 ng isa saaming 3. Kung sino un, xa nalang bahala magsabi. Pero hindi ko talaga maalis sa aking isipan ung napanood ko na nag number 1 xa sa ilog kaya may pumasok ni maliit na fish sa kanyang toot. Weewee attracts fish sabi sa TV.
Isa pang patunay na laging handa ang mga tao dun at sila ay very helpful ay ang pagpapahiram nila ng mesa. Tapos ginawan pa kami ng balsa gamit ung trunk ng banana tree. At eto pa! Dun ko lang nalaman na ang bamboo pala ay hindi tree kundi grass. Totoo ba talaga un? Kasi ang alam ko talaga bamboo is a tree eh. Anyway.. dun ako sa ilog nakahanap ng mga magagandang bato na ipinang souvenir ko. Wala na akong ibang ginawa kundi maghanap at mamulot ng mga bato kaya wag nyo lang ipang tantos sa bingo yan ha. Nakasakay ako dun sa hinihila ng kalabaw. Gusto ko sana dun sa likod mismo ng kalabaw kaso wag daw kasi baka masugatan daw ako kasi mabuhok pala angkalabaw sa likod. Kala ko makinis sila at nagshshine pa nga pag malayo. Umulan dun sa ilog at nagkaroon ng konting usok sa tubig na parang steam ng hot spring. Dun na kami sa “labasan” nag banlaw at kumain ng hapunan. Dun din ako naka experience ng aking first pag sungkit ng mangga hehehe xempre inuwi ko un noh. Nung iniintay ko si andi matapos sa banyo tumingala ako at tsugug nalang may chessboard “Nge chessplayer din?!”.
Ang ganda dun lalo na dun sa may terrace. Ang sarap mag pahinga kasi sobrang tahimik nung lugar at ang ambiance ay napaka soothing. Whenever i try to relax myself here in Manila i simply close my eyes and remember the feeling of sitting at that house’s terrace and feeling the cool breeze knowing that the green green grass is there with its soft ticklish tips. That alone is enough to soothe away the stress of my normal life.
Nag badminton ako laban kay Eggbird (Edbert talaga pero nasanay kasi kami dahil Eggbird ang tawag ni ama), Miko at Andi. Ang galing ni edbert kasi mahilig daw talaga xa sa sports at ang kapatid nyang si miko naman magaling pumalo pababa. Pagod na ko ng kalabanin si andi pero xempre hindi parin magpapatalo ang lola mo. Ayun puro kami pulot wahahaha
Ang sarap ng kinain namin dun, specialty yata nila.
Madilim na ng kami ay umuwi mula sa labasan. Kinabahan talaga ako ng sinabi na magmomotor kami pauwi. Hindi pa kasi ako nakakasakay ng motor at gabi pa nun. Tapos gusto pa nila ako dun sa likod ni Jeff (ung inaasar nila sakin >.
The next morning dinala kami ni ama sa kanyang dating school. Nalelate pa daw xa ng mga isang oras dati kahit sobrang walking distance lang naman. St. Joseph College un katabi nung simbahan. Pagkatapos dun nagtricycle kami papunta dun sa beach na una naming pinagswimmingan din. Dun ako sa bubong nakaupo. O wala pa namang nagbabawal sa akin na dun ako sumakay diba? Sina andi at luan sa loob, si jenny at miko sa likod ng driver, si ama sa gilid. Nag rent kami ng isang salbabidang gulong at nag ice cream din. Dun sa beach nag ala david hasselhoff si ama kasi sabi ni luan “Bel tulong!” na pinasigaw sakin ni luan kaya nagging “Bel help!”XDmuka kaming ewan kasi nakasabit kaming dalawa ni andi kay luan eh yun pala nakatiptoe na xa. Kung may slowmo at background music lang eh parang Baywatch na ang dating! Don’t worry wala namang nalunod… nag panic lang. Pag dating sa bahay nag ihaw kami ng liempo. Alright ihaw dance! Pagkatapos magihaw at magpahinga sa kubo with the puppies. Oh yes I was literally breathing on the puppy that looked like a polar bear. Tandaan mo ang hininga ko ha, para pagbalik ko kilala mo pa ako. This is an experiment, let’s see if it will work. Nagpunta kami sa palengke kasi sabi ni mama bumili daw ako ng mga tuyong isda. Bumili ako ng daing at ng flying fish. Nagmass kami ng mga 6 pm, hindi sumama si ama kasi kilala daw nya ung pari (may saltik daw un kaya ayaw nya). Kahawig ni Sir Aguinaldo ung commentator hehehe. Nanood kami ng Caregiver na palabas sa TV pagkatapos naming kumain. Dumating un friend ni ama na si sonny. Kaya ako nagtataka nung sinabi ni ama na nasa barko na si sonny eh diba si sonny nga ung nag drive nung tricycle. Parehas lang pala pangalan *_* Hay ang init dito sa pasig.. gusto kong bumalik sa mindoro kung saan malamig ang simoy ng hangin at ang mga tao ay laging nakangiti.
Kaya na naming bumalik dun ng mag isa basta pag lumagpas na dun sa simbahan ibig sabihin lumagpas narin kami sa bahay ni ama hehehe.
Haaaay tapos na ang Mindoro Vacation but the memories will last forever.
